Edinburgh School of Food & Wine

Carpaccio of pigeon breast on salad. One-day Italian cookery course at the Edinburgh School of Food & Wine, 13 June 2009. The carpaccio was 'cooked' by quickly dousing it in vinaigrette although that still left it 'raw' in the eyes of many participants; it didn't go down too well.

Gluten Free Apple Crumb Pie

Gluten Free Apple Crumb Pie

Pictures from my family's Thanksgiving table.

My mom got this pie from a new gluten free bakery in her area: Laurie's Gluten Free Goodness in Scotia, NY. e-mail: lauriesgfg@verizon.net

This was quite good. The filling was delicious, not too sweet, very flavorful, and not from a can. The crust was good, but I wasn't a huge fan of the crumb topping. Next time mom is going to order a regular double crust pie.

Analog Heart Pendant

Analog Heart Pendant

This is what I made for David. I love Analog Heart, and he loves wearing necklaces, so why not make something we both can enjoy? Kinda like chocolate and peanut butter, only...inedible.

This was my first attempt at making jewelry, and while it isn't perfect, I'm still pretty happy with it. Hopefully David will like it too. Working on it was frustrating, but it helped take my mind off other things, and the end result was well worth it. With any luck, I'll make something better next time...depending on when my blisters go away and what the next album cover looks like. ;-)
